Affordable Housing Adamstown

This site is within what regional and local planning instruments call the Adamstown Renewal Corridor, being the length of Brunker Road between the commercial centres of ‘Nineways’ Broadmeadow, and Adamstown itself.  The Corridor is identified as presenting an opportunity for economic renewal, and for housing renewal and intensification, with its redevelopment to have a residential focus.

It’s very evident that the market-place is responding positively to the planning instruments, with this development being one of many new developments along Brunker Road.

Graph constructed the building for local developer ABL Property, who acquired the four properties which comprised the site and subsequently entered an agreement with Home in Place (known as Compact Housing Services at the time) to develop affordable housing on the site, with the package to be purchased by Compass on the completion of construction.

ABL obtained development consent for the project and undertook some initial design development prior to calling tenders for the design and construction of the building and its services.  Graph submitted the winning tender and, following the completion of design and getting a Construction Certificate, work got underway early in 2020 on delivering this purpose-built, landmark housing complex.

The building comprises 37 two-bedroom and 13 one-bedroom apartments, accommodating a mix of social and affordable housing tenants.  The ground floor commercial space provides a café and communal area for the residents, and the rooftop terrace provides a landscaped outdoor area with extensive 360° views.

The completed building is an excellent addition to the streetscape of Brunker Road, and will provide quality housing to its residents for many years to come.
